On Avenue D in New York City’s Lower East Side sits a 64-seat planetarium. It is one of the many features of the Lower Eastside Girls Club that instills hope, imagination and possibility for the future of hundreds of young girls and women who visit the club every year.

In 2022, MetLife Foundation awarded $37.9 million in total grants globally and the Lower Eastside Girls Club was one of the recipients. The grant by MetLife Foundation is helping the organization fulfill its mission of connecting its members to successful futures through free after-school programs in arts, sciences and leadership.
