Monica M. Curtis is MetLife’s chief legal officer and a member of the company’s Executive Leadership Team. In this role, Curtis is responsible for the company’s global legal affairs teams and Corporate Secretary’s Office. Curtis was appointed to this position in 2023, after serving as chief counsel of the Litigation and Mergers and Acquisitions section.
Curtis joined MetLife in 2022 after spending fourteen years at The Hartford Financial Services Group. At The Hartford, Curtis was senior vice president and global head of Litigation, Employment and Employee Benefits Law and previously held various positions of increasing responsibility within the Law Department and business functions. Curtis began her career in private practice.
Curtis serves on the boards of Pro Bono Partnership and the Mark Twain House. She received her B.A. from Duke University and her J.D./M.B.A. from Quinnipiac University.
